Godwin Mercado April Construction Update

Finished Roof, Poured Floor and Much More!
With the weather warming up, the sun shining and winter (seemingly) behind us, the Godwin Mercado construction team is continuing to make excellent advancement on the site, where we are really starting to see visible progress.
Significant headway was made on the building’s structure in the past several weeks. The roof is now complete, with teams finalizing the installation of flashings. Exterior brick and interior block work began on the west end and will continue throughout the building. Additionally, the masonry team completed the parapet wall, and the vapor intrusion system as completed on the west office end.
The floor was poured on the west end, and Cascade Concrete is scheduled to pour the remaining sections once the installation of the vapor intrusion system is complete. At the same time, curbs at the 36th Street entrances and parking lot islands are being prepped and will also be poured soon. Grading continues around the site, and geogrid installation is done on the west end of the parking lot.
Conduits for future light poles have been installed, with underground electrical work around the building set to wrap up shortly. Plumbing on the west end rough-in is finished, and the fire suppression water line has been run inside and chlorinated.
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to keep the momentum going and look forward to seeing more of the Godwin Mercado’s structure take shape. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make great strides out in the sun!
