Godwin Mercado March Construction Update

As we set our eyes on spring, we are thrilled to see so much great construction progress driving Godwin Mercado forward.

The steel erectors have finished the joists and laid the decking. Additionally, the decking on the canopy is being wrapped up, which will complete their work on the project.

At the same time, the plumbing and electrical teams have been working hard at the west end, focusing on the installation of underground and storm piping. GVL Excavating has been hauling in new sand to the west end to support ongoing site preparation.

Looking ahead, the steel erection work will undergo an inspection to ensure everything is in compliance. GVL will begin removing soil to prepare for the installation of the geogrid. Once spray foam insulation is applied to the block, masons will start laying the brick on the building’s exterior.

The project team will also begin framing the wall above the overhead doors on the north and south sides to complete the parapet wall. At the same time, the plumbing and electrical teams are expected to finish their underground work, and Quality Air will install curbs for the rooftop units in preparation for roofing.

As we continue into March, work on Godwin Mercado is steadily progressing, and more exciting milestones are on the horizon.
